What is really in cookie dough ice cream?!

Question:

What is really in cookie dough ice cream?

My 5th favorite flavor of ice cream is cookie dough. and I'm wondering, what are those little round "cookie dough" balls really made out of? It tastes exactly like cookie dough, but if it is cookie dough, they wouldn't sell it because it was cause a salmonella epidemic. So, what's really in these "cookie dough" balls.

Answers:

actually you can sell cookie dough (how do you think they do all those cookie dough fundraisers). for "safe" cookie dough they have pasturized eggs which would prevent any salmonella food posioning.

so those little dough balls could really be cookie dough, although i honestly doubt that. cookie dough gets very hard when frozen and those little morsels always seem to be soft and creamy, mmmmmm
