Answers:

well get you a nice piece of meat. Now you can do this one of 2 ways, You can flour your meat and sear it on each side in a frying pan prior to throwing into the crock.....then pour water over top of it and let it cool all day.

I prefer this way, but it take longer to do it, but it is wonderful. and this came about due to a failed recipe, and the following day I tried to make it edible, and it turned out great. Day one....I use a sirloin roast, put it in a large pan that I can put a lid on or cover with aluminum foil, Pour 1/2 to 1 bottle of red wine, I cook this with onions and potatoes, adn organic carrots ( the little ones, and organic carrots taste much sweeter and absob the sweetness of the wine) but you don't have to....cook a few hours till meat is done. then I let it cool and place everything in a bowl in the fridge. Next morning, I put the meat and all ingredients in crock, add more potatoes if I have enough room (I have a large crock). ON the stove top I make a brown gravy using a thin layer of oil, flour, salt and pepper, this should make a pastes and stir until you reach the color you want for your gravy, and don't leave it to burn or you will have to start over.....once you are as brown as you want it get a big glass of water and slowly add water and stir, if you ahve not added enough water, your gravey will bubble and be think looking so you want to thin it some more with more water....keep adding water and stirring until you have a reached a smooth but thick consistency. pour this over your meat and veges if you choose, and cook on low all day. try to keep the carrots out of the crock until the last 1-2 hours of cooking...they will turn to mush. But I am sure that you can do this without and veges.
