What kind of meat to use for pot roast?!

Question:

What kind of meat to use for pot roast?

What kind of meat can I use for pot roast. I want something lean with not a whole bunch of fat. Also, do you have to brown it first before you put it in the crock pot?

Answers:

I prefer a rump roast, but any good roast will do. If there is a little too much fat, you can trim it off but leave a little so the meat will be tender. I don't brown mine first, but you can if you prefer. I take the roast, rinse well then place in bottom of crock pot. Add cut up onions, potatoes & carrots. Pour over 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 soup can of water then stir. Add 1 stick of butter & cook on low 8 - 10 hours......Yummy!!
