Crab Cake Patties?!

Question:

Crab Cake Patties?

I need a really good recipe for crab cake patties. Preferably one you have already tryed (and not just copy and paste). I also do not like to use mayo! I have been researching allrecipes.com already but I didn't find one that caught my attention.

Answers:

This is one of my favorites that I have come up with. I am from the south and like things a little spicy but you can change the amounts of seasonings as you want.

1 lb cooked crabmeat, fresh or frozen
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
1/4 cup diced red bell peppers
2 tablespoons minced parsley
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 large egg, beaten
2 dashs Tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon paprika
4 tablespoons butter or oil ( I like to use the butter best)
Salt and pepper to taste

In bowl, mix together 3/4 cup of the bread crumbs, and all other ingredients and mix well. Shape into patties, adding bread crumbs to it if needed to thicken, and then coat them with remaining bread crumbs. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour (this will help them stay together until you cook them). In skillet heat butter & or oil over medium heat. Add crab cakes and sear until coating is golden brown and lightly crispy, about 4 minutes on each side. Add more oil or butter as needed to the pan to prevent the cakes from sticking as you go along.
