Is it possible to make a healthy piece of toast?!

Question:

Is it possible to make a healthy piece of toast?

I love toast, but I recently started a diet. I like to add butter and jam, but I know that those just ad calories. Is there a way to have those ingredients without the large amount of fat?

Answers:

Hi,

I eat healthy and am happy with a middle of the road approach: low fat, low sugar, smart portions.

A piece of whole grain toast with 3-4 grams of fiber.

One tsp of a good light or regular trans-fat free margerine works well with 2 tsps of low sugar jam.

Check the labels on the jam, the ones I use are 1/2 the sugar and they taste great. Watch the ones marked "all fruit", they add alot of high sugar carbs.

ps.
dark agave nectar is great and tastes very similar to honey. It is low glycemic and naturally organic.

Good Luck on your diet.
