Out o' sugar!!!?
I was baking all last week and now I need to make chocolate chip cookies for my sister and her husband tonight...but I'm out of sugar. I don't have the car so I can't run to the store. Can I use honey? Or is there any other trick that someone knows about? Thnaks!

You can use brown sugar if you have it. I use it regularly in my cookies. It makes them stay softer and chewy (like keebler soft and chewy). The cookies may be just slightly darker but taste every bit as good. You can use natural sweeteners like honey, but then you have to alter the amounts of other liquids to get them to set, so it could be tricky! You could always ask a neighbor...could start a friendship when you take some sugar back with a few of the cookies you used their sugar in. I've done it before with eggs!
