Braising a pot roast?!

Question:

Braising a pot roast?

All the recipes I've seen call for some type of stock/broth or bouillon cubes...I don't have either. Will just plain water work?

Answers:

Yes, water will work.
The idea with using stock or bouillon is that you're flavoring the liquid while water tends to "dilute" the flavor. However, if you have flavorful veggies (onions, celery and carrots) you'll still have a good dish.
