peanut butter balls! they're homemade reese's pieces except they're balls. anyone have a recipe?

Answers:

as usual Princess, I think I have a better recipe than all of the others thus far. First of all, you do not use rice krispies at all. I grew up in Michigan and therefore I know these treats as Buckeyes.

1 1/2 cups peanut butter (this is where I use the store brand)
6 cups powdered sugar (I sift it)
1 cup butter (do not use margarine)
1 tsp vanilla (use real if possible)

Blend these four ingredients. The dough will look dry. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on wax paper or parchment(which is what I use) on a cookie sheet. Freeze these for 1/2 hour at to an hour.

Melt 4 cups chocolate chips in a double boiler on low heat.
(I use a small glass pyrex on top of a small saucepan) Real low heat and stir constantly, don't let the chocolate get grainy.

Dip Peanut butter balls in chocoalte using toothpicks to get the ball down in the chocolate. I dip it about 2/3 of the way in the chocolate. Refrigerate these two hours and then they are ready to eat.
