How do I broil quarter inch thick steaks?!

Question:

How do I broil quarter inch thick steaks?

How long, and at what temp should I broil them?
Thanks!

Answers:

DO NOT broil for 20 minutes. If they are really 1/4" steaks they'll be shoe leather by then.

Coat them lightly with salt and pepper. Have them at room temp (or close) before popping them in the oven, although at that thickness it may not matter.

It varies depending on the oven and how close you are to the broiler (be careful if too close, because it could spatter) and I usually grill, but I think I'd give these babies only 4 mins most on each side and let them sit for a few mins. Even that may be too much. 1/4" is almost nothing. Perhaps you should take a large flat pan, spray it with pam and cook it on a burner on med-high for a bit - it might brown up better.

By the time you get these to brown under the broiler, they'll be long overcooked.
