Cooking hotdogs in a crockpot?!

Question:

Cooking hotdogs in a crockpot?

We're having a party and I'm planning on cooking the hotdogs in the crockpot so they can always be warm for whenever someone wants to eat (there's other food of course, but thought the kids would appreciate this the most). I would assume I should put water in to cook them just as I would on the stove. Anyone have a suggestion of how long the hotdogs should be "stewing" in the crockpot to make sure they're warmed all the way through?

Answers:

It's practically impossible to overcook hot dogs in a crock pot.Put them on low two hours before serving begins and they should be ready and good to go.I also like to do mine in sour kraut or add a can of beer for flavor.Don't worry about the alcohol,it will dissipate during cooking. As for another answerer suggesting to bring them to a boil first,if your crock pot does this, get rid of it,it should not get that hot.The whole idea of a crock pot is slow and low!
