Question:

Any ideas for a marinade or rub for strip steaks?

My parents 39th anniverary is coming up. I need some ideas for what i can use as a marinade or rub for strip steaks and a matching side dish.

Answers:

A good strip steak need not be marinated. Marinating meat is primarily for tougher cuts. A dry rub consisting of salt, black pepper, garlic powder and dried oregano makes an excellent rub applied to steaks that have been left at room temperature for an hour or so before grilling. Serve topped with sauteed mushrooms and a side of grilled vegies, such as zucchini, eggplant, red sweet bell peppers and onions. Add a tossed salad, wine and v`iola, perfection!
