you want to start with the explanation and the terms used in cooking first and foremost.
then you want to start with easy things you use every day like scrambled eggs, soft boiled eggs, then try pancakes, things that are basic and used every day.
Don't go into the baking until you are ready.
Cooking takes alot of practice and you can't rush things.
You have to start very simply and master those things before you progress.
eggs first, then step into pancakes from scratch(not from a box mix)
once you have mastered that try making different salads....
and then making some dressings for those salads....
next I would try some simple meat recipes, like tacos, then maybe chili, hamburgers, meatballs.....
after that I would move onto chicken.. remember stay basic and don't get into any fancy recipes.(baked coated chicken)
make sure the recipes you use go step by step and explain everything...
then I might try a stew or a casserole.....
they are usually pretty basic and you will be picking up tips as you cook more and more.....
you will know what you are ready for next....
start simple master those recipes and then move onto something.else
you should keep a binder of the recipes you have made and grade them for their ease of preparing, and taste .
You should start a recipe box of easy recipes you can make and build up from there.
Preparing a full meal takes time, experience and patience, you don't learn this over night, so don't be hard on yourself....
If you have a grandma or aunt that likes to cook. ..spend some time over at their kitchens helping them
.Every cook has tips to pass along to someone just learning....
Remember have all the ingredients at hand before you start a recipe...
