Do you think it will taste nasty if i make vegan banana bread without sugar?
i've baked vegan banana bread before and was REALLY yummy, but i used sugar.
now im trying to cut back on calories and sugar and that fattning crap.
i was wondering if it would make a BIG difference if i left out the sugar. (i'm not fond of sweet things anyways..) as long as my bread taste like bananas then i'm good! :]
* 3 ripe bananas -330 calories
* CUT THIS ingredient out----> 1/2 cup vegan sugar<----CUT THIS ingredient out.
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla -no calories
* 1 cup unbleached flour -100 calories
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder- no calories
* 1/4 teaspoon baking soda- no calories
* 1/4 cup water- no calories
or eek. does anyone know any recipe for banana bread that is sugar/fat/oil/butte/milk/egg free??? :D

I would not cut out the sugar completely, try Splenda or use some applesauce instead. I always substitute applesauce or pear puree for the oil in my recipes
