Answers:

I like the combo of beef and sausage. I would do the standard meat loaf. Saute some chopped onion just until the onion is translucent, for the last minute throw in some minced garlic. I like to also saute some minced carrot with the oinions but that's up to you. Remove heat and let cool until you can touch it. Add to meats with either prepared bread crumbs or homemade bread crumbs. (hint: if making your own, put sliced bread into a toaster and toast until it stiffens but does not turn brown. Crumble and add to your loaf). Add one egg and mix all together well. I would put half of this mixture into a loaf pan then place cheese over the top of that and then top the cheese with the remaining meat mixture. Any kind of cheese will do, provolone or swiss would be my first choices. As an option you can add sliced hard boiled egg instead of the cheese or be daring and add both. As for amounts of ingredients I just eyeball them. After all you know how much you like a particular ingredient. For example, I always add more garlic because I love it.

Good eating!
