Can Fries in Microwave be Crispy? (as they show in advt)?!

Question:

Can Fries in Microwave be Crispy? (as they show in advt)?

I recently saw an advt (can't recall the company name) for some fries... it said for the first time they made fries that was available in frozen format and they would be crispy when microwaved!

Is this for real? Have you tried them? Which are those?

Thanks in advance!

Answers:

They're only "crispy" if you use the special plate in the package and even then they are highly susceptible to the ravages of steam.

Mostly, this is a ploy to get you to buy these fries. Bottom line is this: you cannot get crispy ANYTHING from a microwave. If you really want crispy fries, the way they're supposed to be, you either have to oven- or pan-fry them.
