My soup is bitter, what do I do?!

Question:

My soup is bitter, what do I do?

I made a soup of cabbage, carrot, tomato and onion, put it through the food processor and added a can of tomato soup. I added some lovage and silantro, salt and celery salt and a bit of sugar. It still has a bitter aftertaste. I think it was the lovage, I took out all the bits I could, any suggestions for taking out the bitterness?

Answers:

Tomato, lovage, onion & cabbage are all acidic. Add potato which will help absorb some of the other flavorings, and a couple more tsp. of sugar.
