What's the difference between brown gravy and beef gravy?!

Question:

What's the difference between brown gravy and beef gravy?

Is there a lot of taste difference. Especially canned or bottled from the store. Which one has a milder taste? Thanks!

Answers:

Brown gravy comes from a brown stock. You can roast chicken, fish or beef bones to create this brown color. Beef gravy is made from beef broth or stock. I have to agree with the other answer pan gravies are the best way to go. However as a home cook I use broths with reduced sodium because it takes typically hours to make a good beef or chicken stock. I would keep in mind what your protein is. if it is fish, chicken or beef you should serve a sauce made from the appropriate stock.
