How do you cook salmon?
I'm looking for a simple way to cook salmon. I am somewhat kitchen retarded so simplicity would be appreciated!

turn oven to 400
lay down two layers of aluminum foil that are about a foot larger than the piece of salmon, so that you can lay the salmon in the center and fold it up over and fold it closed to hold in steam
I put the salmon on the foil, lift up the edges of the foil, put water in that is 1/3 of the way up the filet
put butter on the salmon, season to taste, keep in mind that salmon is bland without seasoning, onions, butter and water will be the least flavoring I ever use
then I fold the foil over the salmon so that it is completely enveloped in the foil and closed, set it on a cookie sheet
cook for 15-25 min, depending on how large the piece is.
when it loses the pink or salmon color and starts to break off and flake, its done, the outside often is done before the center, if its still fleshy colored cook a few min longer. keep a close eye on it because over cooked salmon is akin to eating dry sand.
