Left over Marinade for chicken?!

Question:

Left over Marinade for chicken?

So I get real finicky with raw meat (who doesnt) and was in a rush this morning. I am marinading chicken and poured the whole bottle in (normally I leave some left over). Can I still use the leftover marinade that my raw chicken has been sitting in all day? Or do I need to throuw it out? Heat it up?
Obviously I am not a Betty Crocker, I am a paper pusher dang it!! ;)

Answers:

You can bring the leftover marinade to a boil, letting it boil a few minutes, and then use it as a sauce for the chicken. You shouldn't reuse it as a marinade, as it could cause cross-contamination, even if you would have put more raw meat in it. It is just too dangerous to risk. Boiling it, however, kills the bacteria and makes a nice sauce, especially if you add herbs, some wine, and a little butter to make the sauce richer. Good luck!
