How do you prepare shrimp fried rice ?

Also... (Is it popular to simply thaw shrimp and serve with cocktail sauce?) (What does grilling shrimp entail?) (I'll be happy with any of those questions answered.)


Answers:

Peel and devein shrimp. Season with salt and pepper. Saute until pink on both sides. Set aside. Heat up some oil in a wok. When wok almost becomes smoking hot, crack one egg in wok and mix it up. When it's almost scrambled eggs, add chopped onion, chopped green pepper and chopped carrot to pan. Toss to mix. Add cooked rice and mix thoroughly. Add soy sauce to wok. Mix well. Add shrimp, mix and serve.

You can thaw the shrimp but make sure they're cooked first. If not, poach them in some water flavored with bay leaves, peppercorns, lemon wedges, garlic cloves, red pepper flakes and salt. Then let them cool in fridge until ready to use and serve with cocktail sauce.

Grilling shrimp is easy. Just get some metal skewers, insert through head and tail so they're curved on the skewers, brush them with seasoned butter and toss them on the grill. Cook until both sides are pink and cooked through.
