That if you rinse rice before you cook it, it will make it less starchy? Just something I heard.

You can, if you want to add yet another step to the preparation.....I usually just boil some water or broth (just shy of 2 cups) and add 1 cup of jasmine rice to it......give it a couple of stirs and cover it and turn the heat to the lowest setting and DON'T TOUCH IT FOR 20 MINUTES!!! Stirring rice while it's cooking is a sure way for it to release more starch and make it gummy.......After the 20 minutes, take it off the heat and "fluff" it with a fork (gently run a fork through the pot of rice, back and forth and side to side......)Enjoy!!!
