Can I replicate "camper stew" in an oven?
Camper stew, as I made it on a recent camping trip, was some pre-cooked sausage, potatoes, and onions, douced liberally with beer, olive oil, and spices, all in a makeshift mini casserole dish made of foil. The package was double wrapped in foil, and set along the edge of our campfire, placed in the middle for the last five minutes for a quick broil - total cooking time was about 25 minutes. My friends made their own stews of various meats and veggies. We were all very pleased with our outcomes - mine was especially delicious! But now I want to see if the recipe could transfer to my oven.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to cook it in my oven? I'm thinking about using the same ingredients in a ceramic casserole dish, covering it with foil, and tossing it in the oven for about an hour at 350. I'm not sure this would really replicate the heat component though. I am pretty inexperienced at cooking. Any suggestions? Anyone successfully replicated "camper stew" at home?

sure ...do you have a dutch oven ? you could use that or a casserole dish but its probally not going to be deep enough and might bubble over...put a cookie sheet underneath...sounds delicious you should post the recipe!
