Onion powder & garlic powder...?!

Question:

Onion powder & garlic powder...?

How are they made? Is anything added to them?

Thanks!

Answers:

Both are made with the "end bits" of either onion or garlic which have been dehydrated and then ground to a very fine powder.....MOST brands are pure onion or garlic powder, but in some climates (I don't know where you are) manufacturers add an anti caking agent (usually calcuim phosphate) to keep the product from clumping and not dispensing out of the container......Read the label ingredients to make sure that you're getting pure onion/garlic powder.....BTW, buying Onion Salt or Garlic Salt is a waste of money, just use the onion/garlic powder and add your own salt.....that way you can control the "saltiness" of the finished dish......Enjoy!!!
