How should I boil shrimp, and for how long?!

Question:

How should I boil shrimp, and for how long?

I know already about boiling the heads first to make a stock. How long should I boil them, and do I actually boil them, or bring the water to boil, turn heat off, and then put in shrimp?

Ok. I have to put it in now, I need to get dinner on the table. I wish I could get an answer to this...

Answers:

If you are boiling the heads for stock, then boil away. (you'll throw out teh heads anyway) If you are talking about the shrimp itself, just boil a few minutes until they are pink in color. Do not overboil or they will be rubbery.

This will happen FAST!!!! About 3 minutes is the usual cooking time.
