Goopy fudge problem?!

Question:

Goopy fudge problem?

When I make chocolate fudge it cuts cleanly and is solid. However, when I do flavors - peanut butter or butterscotch, etc. - it's goopy. I can still cut it, but it's not as firm. How can I make it firmer?

Answers:

It may be the oil in the peanut butter, etc, that is causing this. Try using less butter, if your recipe calls for butter, or more sugar. Maybe just a little flour or corn starch would thicken it up, but that's just guessing. Experiment with some different recipes, there are about as many different recipes for fudge as there are people who make fudge! Good luck!
