Question:

What kind of cake/batter should i use if i want it to be multiple layers with fondant??

i know that it needs to be a sturdy, dense cake and that i shouldn't use a store bought cake mix. what type of cake should i use that will stand up to that kind of weight? the cake is gonna be like this...

and i still want it to be really tasty.

Answers:

If you want the cake to look pretty when sliced I would use mutiple layers, alternating maybe chocolate cake and vanilla. You you plan to use a filling just use a cake mix that goes well with it. Like I would use Straberry cake mix with a strawberry filling. Different color layers will make it look better when it's sliced.
