Cake cutting ideas?

ok i make alot of cakes and 99% of them turn out good but theres one once in a while i dont know what happens turn out tasting like crap.anyways i have been making all kinds of cakes this week for birthdays and this cake i just made pinnapple upside down cake (never made it in my life)i want to try it and see if its good but i dont want anyone to know i tried it lol like i dont want to mess up the looks so how can i cut it like can i cut it in pieces and serve on a plate?sorry im kinda lost for ideas cam amyone help me,thanks!

i was thinkin of cutting the cake in squares after i flip it upside down?is that ok too?

How Tara's answer even makes sense I don't know . . .

Other wise the only thing I could think of is to try and cut a very thin slice off of the very bottom (the part where the cake will end up sitting on the cardboard). No one will see it and you can get a sense for how it tastes.

You won't get any pineapple but you can taste the cake.

I would also try investing in a silicone cupcake cup that will stand freely so you can always put a lil extra batter in there and have something to taste later, plus it will fit in the oven the same time as the cake.
