Is there a good way to preserve tomatoes by freezing them?!

Question:

Is there a good way to preserve tomatoes by freezing them?

I have tons of tomatoes in my garden! Last year I tried canning them only to have most of them not seal or the jars break! I came to the conclusion that I can't can! haha! So this year I am looking for an effective way to freeze tomatoes.

I have tried to freeze them and it didn't work that great. I cored several tomatoes and then heated them up, cooled them down and put them in freezer bags. 2 days later I thawed them out and tried to use them in goulash. They were runny and watery. Basically I ended up with juice and skin! Is there a better way to freeze them?

Answers:

Jessica--- We freeze tomatoes every year.
And we do it the easy way. Just wash the tomatoes let them dry, put in plastic bags and freeze. When you need to use them take the amount you need out of bag, place in hot tap water a few seconds the skin will
slip off very easy cut out the stem scar and they are ready to cook.We use them as you would canned tomatoes Good in Soups
Stews Sauces ect. Hope this helps you
