Please help me???????? labor day picnic....?

my hubby wants to have a labor day picnic and i said fine but he wants something done in the crockpot or indoor grill something besides hamburger and hot dogs, i need some serious help any and all recipes will be appreciated and the one with the best menu item gets a whooping 10 pts and 2 thumbs up from us... so please help us before i go stir crazy and he starts something he cant finish... thank u all in advance and god bless u all...

cook a big roast in the crockpot...then depending on your preference..either make BBQ out of it by adding your fav bbq sauce.....mine is Sweet Baby Rays & shredding meat. OR add 1 can of beer,peppechinis,garlic powder,onion powder,seasoned salt & pepper,oregano (or italian seasoning) while cooking the roast....shred & serve on any kind of rolls you have....(steak, kaiser,hoagie are good).....and reserve the juice to dunk the sandwiches in....wonderful......so easy,too.
