Suggestions for nightly dinner routine? Cooking, recipes, etc.?!

Question:

Suggestions for nightly dinner routine? Cooking, recipes, etc.?

My boyfriend and I are going to start trying to be healthier and cost effective by making dinner every night. We've tried doing this in the past though and the attempts seem to fail after 2 or 3 times. I think sometimes it's just being at a loss of what to make.
So I guess my real question would be, what's a good way to get into the habit of making dinner every night? What's a good way to find recipes that aren't too complicated, and start doing a dinnertime routine?

Answers:

The best (and only reliable way) to do this is to plan your menu for the week and shop for it. Boring as it may be, it makes it much easier at the end of the day to stick to your resolutions. It doesn't take long to do. Figure out what nights you will be home and plan meals for them. Make them simple to prepare because you will probably be tired by the end of the day. If you can't be bothered doing this there are places that will email you menus to use each week.

You can often find simple recipes at the supermarket while you shop. They will be promoting a product and give you a recipe for it., which is usually pretty easy to do.

There are also lots of pre-prepared meals now that you can buy. Chicken that is already marinated for you, pre-packaged salads, frozen veg that just needs steaming etc. Invest in a few jars of cook-in sauce, pasta sauce and packets of sauces. They can make the meal taste different each time.

I wish you luck with it. Here is a link to a place that talks about the best and easiest way to plan your menu.
