Frosting a layer cake?!

Question:

Frosting a layer cake?

Every time I try to frost my cakes, the frosting sticks to the cake, peeling it off every time I lift the spatula. What am I doing wrong?

Answers:

Freeze the layers first, then put a huge blob of room temperature frosting (twice as much as you need) in the center of one of the layers. Spread from the middle outwards using as few strokes as possible. Use a spatula knife, which is just for frosting cakes. It takes some practice, but you can do it!!
