Does butterbeer taste nice?!

Question:

Does butterbeer taste nice?

I was going to make butterbeer with my cousins but I wanted to know if it actaully taste nice. The recipe I was going to use was this:

Butterbeer
Ilb Caster Sugar
1/4 pint Milk
1/8lb Butter
1/4 large tin Condensed Milk
Heat the milk. Dissolve sugar in it, and add the butter and condensed milk.
Boil gently for approximately 35 minutes.
Beat.
Add either milk or water until a drinkable consistency and flavour is reached. *Watch you don't burn yourself*

I don't want to use one with rootbeer or cream soda in because we don't like it. Does it taste nice or does anyone have any nicer recipes?

Answers:

The soda is used to imitate the 'bubbles' and 'fizz' in beer.

Here's a recipe for Harry Potter's Butterbeer that doesn't require soda:

1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1 quart apple cider

In a medium bowl cream together the ice cream, butter, sugar and spices.
Re-freeze mixture.
In a medium pot heat apple cider to just Hot.
Place 6 tall or 12 short glasses on counter.
Scoop equal amounts of ice cream mixture into each glass.
Pour hot cider on top and serve with spoons for stirring.
