Easy/Simple/Yummy Potatoe Recipes??? [Easy enough for a 12 year old!]?

Ok i want to get away from the comp. for a while and just have fun in the kitchen...suprize my mom that i can actually make something yummy! i need a easy potatoe recipe...not in the oven please only like on a pan dont forget the yummy details please!!!......thank u ! best answer gets 10! [i want to make them like on a pan and put a lil onions with oil....but you know i need help with teh details!how...]

Ok...here are my pan "Home Fries".

Cut up a couple of onions.

Slice up like 4-5 red potatos (use less potato's if you have Idaho Russett brown potatoes). Make sure you scrub the potatos to get all the sand off of them, but don't remove the skins. Also if the slices are too big, cut the slice in half to make half moons.

Put about 1/2 a stick of butter with a little oil in the pan, then add onions. Cook until they start to get translucent, or see through. Put a little salt and pepper on them.

Next, add the sliced potatoes, and some more salt. Make sure you mix them around so each potato gets some fat on them.

Let them sit on Medium-high heat for 10-15 minutes. If they start to burn or crisp, simply add water.

After 10-15 minutes, cover the pan, and check them every so often for doneness. When the potatoes flake or start to get mushy, they are done!!!!

The onions usually end up a little crispy and sweet.
