Is egg important in a cookie recipe?!

Question:

Is egg important in a cookie recipe?

I forgot to buy eggs for cookies which im gonna bake. Is it worth going back to supermarket to buy eggs, or are eggs not so important?

Answers:

I bake all the time and I always forget an ingredient or two. Don't worry. A good substitute for eggs is mayonnaise. NO MIRACLE WHIP. I know that sounds gross but trust me I do it all the time. Check some cooking web sites it is true. Also look at the list of ingredients in mayo, it is a lot of egg. About 1 1/2 teaspoon = an egg. Yo will not taste the mayo in the batter or the cookies. but if you don't have mayo then you will have to go to the store.
