Question:

I'm making Chili, and it taste so good and it's not done?

Has anyone else been amazed at their food? I mean I'm not bragging (guess i am) but I swear it taste like the best thing I've eaten.....and it's not done, still gonna let it go another hour (I like to be sure with chili, make sure it blends).

Kidney beans, onion, garlic, red pepper, hanabero pepper, salt, pepper, stir fry beef (just a steak cut into slivers), ground beef, sugar, tomato sauce, tabasco sauce, worchestershire sauce, cumin, oregano, chili powder. I have no precise measurement, as I have been making it for so long...but it is too much to stand.....lol...I keep eating it out of the pot...lol.....I cook all the meat first, and add to the pot to soften the veggies, then I add the spices so that the bloom, then I add the sauces, and finally the beans......and now it's like two hours and I like to cook it to death.....so that the steak is tender, cause you usually eat with a spoon......it's gonna be good......I'm sure I'll pay for it but I don't care..that hanabero pepper is too much...just the right touch....seeds and all now...or else it's not worth it.

I'm in my 50's and have been cooking for years, rather decades, and just the other night I made the best damn guacamole. I commented to my husband and he said he was just thinking the same thing. Sometimes things just click, huh? Good on you!! Chili is one of my favs. A trick I do to thicken it up if it's not thick enough to my liking, add a can of refried beans to it! Did you add some cocoa? Try it if you never had, just a tsp or so or more depending on the size of your pot. Bon Appetit!
