Cooking help! I want to make a potato like soup. This is what i have?
Potatoes, Milk, 2 ears of corn, 1 yellow onion, rotisserie chicken, and chicken broth.
How would you put this together to make a soup?
Answers:
I hope you at least have some seasonings. Clean the potatoes and roughly peel them, leaving a little skin for flavor. Cube the potatoes and rinse the starch off. Chop and saute the onion in a small amount of butter then add the potatoes and chicken broth. Bring this to a boil until the potatoes are becoming soft and then reduce the heat. While this is boiling, cut the corn off of one ear and take the chicken off the frame into pieces of a size that you like. Stir the potato-broth mixture until the potato starts to break up and then add the chicken and corn. Simmer this for 20 minutes and stir it once in a while to continue to break down the potato and create a thicker soup. Once you have done this, slowly stir in the milk until it is a consistency that you like. Cook over low heat just until you begin to see bubbles form so that you do not scald the milk or burn the other starchy ingredients. Hopefully, this works for you. If you have a few spices, you could add a tiny amount of thyme or even some parsley to make the final product a little more attractive. Good luck!!
