Freezing meals? Help?!

Question:

Freezing meals? Help?

I want to make some meals to freeze. What sort of think can I/ can't I make, and how long will they last in the freezer?

Answers:

I cook different meals about two or three times a week and cook in batches so that I can freeze meals for other days then usually I can take a whole week of cooking once in a while and I never cook at weekends,
I make spaghetti bolognaise, chilli con carne, casseroles of chicken and beef, lasagnes, cottage pies, fish pies, chicken pies, meat pies, and pretty much anything. I even freeze full dinners of meat, lamb, chicken etc with all the veg and trimmings - roast potates freeze really well - and save those butter/margarine cartons, they are ideal size portions. Just cook more than you need of everything and freeze the rest. Most things will last for at least 2 or 3 months. Believe me once you get into it you'll never look back and you'll have more free time. You can cook two or three things at once which saves on the electricity. I've been doing this for the last two years and it's great, there is always something ready to pop into the microwave. Give it a go, you'll also save money cos you can buy larger quanitites of meat ect cheaper and never have any waste food to throw away. Hope this helps.
