Apple crisp has too much butter and is too sweet. How can I fix it?!

Question:

Apple crisp has too much butter and is too sweet. How can I fix it?

I made an apple crisp, and I knew when I did it, that it was probably wrong, and just did it anyway. I think if I'd had enough apples, it'd been ok. Anyway, I cut up apples, and mixed with brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Then I mixed butter, oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, coconut and cinnamon and put that on top of apples. I cooked at 350 until done. But it came out way too sweet and buttery (it's really Fleishmann's stick, no salt margarine). I did pour off some of the butter. Is there any way to repair? I don't have any more apples. I appreciate any ideas.

Answers:

cut it all up really fine, and use it as filling for a savoury pie, or use like a trifle with a dense sponge cake or bread that isn't sweet.
