I'm bored with cooking - need some ideas.?!

Question:

I'm bored with cooking - need some ideas.?

I'd like to hear some ideas like some regional foods and recipes. It seems that I've gotten into a rut, and I just keep making variations of the same things. What are your faves and include a recipe if you can.
I'm from the Northeast so I'd like to get some input from other parts of the country. I've heard of a soup called boo yah from Wisconsin. Would like to get more like this.

I'm looking for foods that your local favourites. Dishes I wouldn't find out about unless I visited your area of the US.

Answers:

Booyah Soup sounds good but stewing meat doesnt come with bones. And you would have to remove all bones before you served.

I am going to try that one - sounded good.

I live in GA and grew up in Michigan - i like everything

Spaghetti Salad:

1 box spaghetti noodles
1 can garbanzos
chopped celery - 4 to 5 stacks
2 chopped tomatos
1 chopped cucumber
1 chopped green pepper
1 bottle italian dressing
2 to 3 tablespoons Salad Supreme

Mix all and chill.

Split Pea Soup
1 small bag green split peas, washed and picked
1 onion, diced
4 to 5 stalks celery, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
6 cans chicken or veg stock (more if needed)
salt and pepper

Heat oil in large soup pot. Add all veggies and garlic and bay leaf. Saute for about 10 minutes stirring often. Add the split peas and stock...you can also split the stock up and use 1/2 water. (and buy sodium free). Bring to a boil. Remove any scum that pops up. Turn to simmer and cook for about 2 hours stirring often...if it gets to thick bcs beans soak up juice just add more. After the peas are soft, take a few cups and puree in blender or the food processor and add back to pot. Remove bay leaf and add salt and pepper.
