Shrimp Marinade Question- Maximum marinade time allowed?!

Shrimp Marinade Question- Maximum marinade time allowed?

Hi-I just thawed out a bag of Colossal shrimp for a bbq tomorrow around 6 PM. I created the marinade and then placed the now thawed shrimp in the Zip Lock marinade bag. As I tossed out the Colossal Shrimp bag I see it states: Marinade shrimp in your favorite marinade for maximum 4 hours.

Is it okay to have this shrimp in a marinade over night? Why do they just want a maximum marinade time of 4 hours? No citrus in marinade but does contain garlic.


Answers:

I'd take them out of the marinade now and wash them off. Then tomorrow before cooking toss them in the marinade you've saved for a max of four hours then toss in Olive Oil!
Any more in the marinade and they may change the texture and not taste much like shrimp!
