Is white rice left out at room temp still good?!

Question:

Is white rice left out at room temp still good?

it was covered

Answers:

It really depends on how long it was left out, at what temperature and what other foods were in with the rice. Bacteria breeds when food is left out at room temperature and in moist conditions. If it was left out for several hours, I wouldn't recommend eating it. Although, what I would do myself and what I would recommend to someone else can be 2 different things. Meat and egg products are ones to be particularly careful about and not to take chances. So, if there was meat or dairy products in with the rice, don't take a chance. Rice is safer than meat and dairy. If it was just rice, no meat or dairy, it wouldn't be as risky. It's just hard to give a good answer without knowing all the facts or seeing the rice. I use a crock pot to keep my foods at a safe temperature until meal time. Take a look at my web site at http://crockpotmeals@wordpress... That's the safe way to cook foods and keep them safely until meal time.
