What can i do when i dont boil an egg long enough?!

Question:

What can i do when i dont boil an egg long enough?

Ok this is the problem, everyday my daughter likes a boiled egg sandwich with her packed lunch. Yet some (not all mornings) they are not cooked enough. Ok Im not stupid here, I leave on for 15mins from water being cold. Sometimes they are ok other times they are not. Yes could leave on longer but the goodness would be taken out (please correct me if im wrong). Obviously once the egg has been cut in half i cant put back in the water (again correct me if wrong). I even attempted putting one semi cooked egg in the microwave - it which it exploded (so do not ever do this!!). And suggestions would be appreciated - my child is vegatarian and she doesnt like cheese.

Answers:

I feel the best way to boil an egg is to cover the eggs with cold water at least 1" above the eggs. Heat to a boil, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 18 minutes. Cool eggs in cold water to prevent over cooking. I always get perfect eggs and no breakage!
