Question:

Can you make a chocolate cake (Betty Crocker Super Moist) from the package without using EGGS??

the recipe calls for 3 eggs and i'm allergic....THE EGG SUBSTITUTE DOESNT WORK FOR CHOCOLATE CAKES!!

PLEASE GIVE ME A SUBSTITUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answers:

Applesauce 1/4 cup per Egg and if needed add a little more Oil.
Check the box and make sure it has baking powder in it or the cake won't rise like it would with the eggs. If it doesn't then just add a 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder when you make the cake.

For future reference here is a recipe and link to cake recipes that are Egg-Free. I have only tried this one and the depression cake so far and they are quite good.

Cocoa Cake

Dry ingredients:
3 c. flour (all purpose)
2 c. sugar (gran.)
1/2 c. sifted cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Wet ingredients:
2 c. water
3/4 c. cooking oil
2 Tbl. white vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix together.
Stir in the wet ingredients til moistened. You don't need to use a mixer for this can be done by hand.
Put into a 9x13 cake pan that is greased and floured.
Place into a 350* oven for @ 30 mins or til cake pulls from sides of pan.
Cool, and frost with your favorite frosting (very good with just plain ol' whip cream
