Can fresh rhubarb still be pulled and used this late in the year?!

Question:

Can fresh rhubarb still be pulled and used this late in the year?

my mom always said there was a certain date ( i cant remember when) that she will no longer use fresh rhubarb.
i bought some at the famers market this morning and now wondering if its a-ok to use.

Answers:

Yes you can still use the rhubarb. It will just be a bit tougher - just cook until tender. Removing the "strings" from the outside of the rib helps too.
