Does cool mean put in refrigerator...?
im making cheesecake and the directions say 'cool and decorate' so do i put the cheesecake in the refrigerator to cool or just leave it out like a cake?
thanks!
Answers:
To cool in cooking and baking is to leave it out in room tempature. You may have heard in cooking shows that deal with baking that to place something on a cooking rack. A cooling rack is essentially a wired rack that elevates the pan while on counter or table that allows air to flow all around the cake or dessert, letting it cool evenly on top and bottom. Putting cheese cake in fridge to soon will cause it to stress and possibly crack.
