can i seal up with a packing tape?

Answers:

It sort of depends on where the hole is. If it is in the external casing, and the interior surface is intact, then the amount escaping microwave radiation is probably not going to be too high. If it is in the interior surface, then this is a serious, serious problem since the microwave radiation won't be reflected and will start to heat up the internal mechanisms. We had a small fire in our previous microwave because of a small defect in the interior surface.

But seriously, in either case, get a new microwave!!! It isn't worth the risk.
