How Many Loaves of Bread? How Many Pounds of Meat?!

Question:

How Many Loaves of Bread? How Many Pounds of Meat?

I'm hosting a party. We're going to have sandwiches (kind of like sub-sanwhiches). I'm going to get large French loaves of bread and deli meat, making it into several large sandwiches and then slicing into finger food-type portions.

I'm going to be feeding approximately 40 people (including about 10 children over the age of 5).

I am going to use turkey, ham and roast beef deli slices.

How many loaves of bread and much meat should I buy?

(By the way, all condiments and veggies will be separate).

Answers:

A serving for an adult is 2 oz of meat. Consider each person will probably utilize 2 servings (easily) and that will put you at 10 pounds of meat. If you're going to use French loaves of bread, I would cut each loaf into six equal pieces. It's not too large and it's not too small.
