Can I cook cornish game hens in the crock pot?!

Question:

Can I cook cornish game hens in the crock pot?

or is that just wrong? It is really hot and I don't want to heat up the kitchen. Also, they are all defrosted and everything... what do you think? Thanks

Answers: I love to fix them in the crockpot!

In large skillet, brown 1 onion finely chopped, 1 clove minced garlic, 2 ribs of celery finely minced & 1 chopped carrot in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Place game hens in bottom of crockpot, then pour veggies over top. Add 1 cup chicken broth or white wine, a sprinkle of oregeno, and salt & pepper. Cook over low heat for about 6 - 8 hours - meat will fall from the bone when done.....

I like to serve with wild rice, grilled or steamed asparagus & homemade garlic bread. yes through in some veggies after it cooks for about an hour-viola instant meal Yes...you can. You can cook anything in a crock pot. A crock pot shouldn't heat up your kitchen as much as the oven would. You don't need to put the temperature on high. Crock pots are meant for slow cooking and simmering. I cook chicken and roast in mine all the time. They are also more economical than using the oven because they don't use as much electricity or gas. I wouldn't. I like the skins on mine crispy and buttery. The crockpot makes most meats soft & stringy.
