Mac and cheese??

Hi you Americans are allways talking about mac and cheese on this site, is this macoroni cheese ? Please can you give the recipie as I want to make it, thanks.

Answers: If you have to ask what macaroni and cheese is, and you're referring to "you americans", telling you to buy a box mix isn't likely to work.

Try this recipe for homemade macaroni and cheese. The box mixes are quite tasty, considering, but this one is better.

1/2 pound elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
2 eggs
6 ounces evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
10 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente and drain. Return to the pot and melt in the butter. Toss to coat.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and mustard. Stir into the pasta and add the cheese. Over low heat continue to stir for 3 minutes or until creamy.

People play around with homemade macaroni and cheese, adding all sorts of different cheeses, and all the variations are good. My first wife used to spread bread crumbs atop her macaroni and cheese, and bake it in the oven, and that was a nice touch, too.

Say "comfort food" and this is what a lot of Americans think of. I just buy the box in stores.. but here's a recipe I found.

Ingredients

1 8oz. box of elbow macaroni, cooked
and drained
1/4 stick butter
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

Prepare macaroni by directions on box and
drain well. Place macaroni in saucepan and
and butter and cheese. Stir until melted and
serve.

You could try substituting some or all of the
cheddar cheese with gouda, mozzarella, or
swiss cheese i'm not an american, but i love mac and cheese, ,there are several companies who sell these, ,i like kraft's mac and cheese, ,just boil the macaroni, strain it then add the cheese, ,delicious!!! There are many recipes for mac and cheese but this is the most simplest.

If you are making it for yourself you boil 1 cup of macaroni. When soft drain. add a 2 tsp marg. a couple tbs milk and processed America cheese. I use velvetta. ( about 1 cup diced. Stir until melted. add salt and pepper. Now you have American macaroni and cheese! there are many ways to cook it

1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack

Stir into the macaroni. In a large bowl, mix the Muenster, mild and sharp
Cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheeses. To the macaroni, add the
half-and-half, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese, the cubed Velveeta, and
the eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to the buttered casserole.
Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and dot with the
remaining one tablespoon of butter.

Bake until it's bubbling around the edges, about 35 minutes. Serve hot. One order of g4 hi-resolution computers attached to your mental roof. The dark half/the last prophecy see it and be a brave soldier within the Great and Secret Show.
