i am looking for some inspiration on what to have for tea, i am sick of doing the same stuff every week, and am looking for a cheap, easy, nice tea can anyone send me there ideas please


Answers: this weeks menu in my house was tacos, chicken and mushroom with rice, silverside and veg, fish and chips with salad Go to your local Asian Grocery store. They have a whole isle of inexpensive teas. The local one here has over 1000 types of teas, and most are under the cost of $2.00 a box. Most tea is made by boiling, so it does not get any easier than that. you moron she doesn't mean tea as in tea the drink, she means tea as in the evening meal. How about a nice sausage like a German sausage and some Colcannon?

COLCANNON

1/2 lb white cabbage (after core is removed)
dash salt
1 lb potatoes, scrubbed and sliced, with skins left on
1 medium leek, thoroughly washed and sliced
1/2 c milk
1/4 tsp mace
salt and pepper to taste
1 garlic clove
1/2 stick unsalted butter

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and boil the cabbage until tender, about 12-15 minutes. Drain off the water and chop the cabbage. Set aside. Bring another pot of water to a boil and boil the potatoes and garlic (whole) until tender. Drain off the water and set aside. Put the leeks in a saucepan, cover with the milk, bring close to boiling, and then turn down to a simmer until tender. Set aside. Add the mace, salt and pepper, and garlic to the pot with the potatoes and mash well with a hand masher. Now add the leeks and their milk and mix in with the potatoes, taking care (for the sake of texture) not to break the leeks down too much. Add a little more milk if necessary to make it smooth. Now mach in the cabbage and lastly the butter. The texture you want to achieve is smooth-buttery-potato with interesting pieces of leek and cabbage well distributed in it. Transfer the whole mixture to an ovenproof dish, make a pattern on the surface (like a fork-furrow pattern - looks very nice when nicely browned), and place under the broiler to brown.
